Often the best meals are found in the most unexpected places.

Perched above the world-famous caldera in the white-washed village of Imerovigli, Mezzo restaurant offers unique traditional dishes with the finest ingredients on the island.

I loved how that evening unfolded… We were leisurely walking through the twisting streets of Imerovigli when we came across this convivial restaurant. The colorful door was open so intrigued, I stepped inside to see what it was like. The restaurant had a delightful Cycladic architecture with three atmospheric levels where diners were treated to magical views of the Aegean Sea.

Wandering around the casual yet captivating restaurant, I noticed all tables were reserved except one. That little table had to be for us!

The Moussaka we ordered was simply one of the most delicious in Santorini. Presented in a traditional ceramic pot and accompanied with a lovely fragrance, the classic Greek dish absolutely satisfied our palates. Each bite was a explosion of flavors that we wished it would last forever.

The magnificent views are best enjoyed at sunset when the restaurant is bathed in a magnificent bronze glow.

We couldn´t have a better coclusion for the meal…

Dining out in Santorini doesn´t need to be a costly affair. The island is filled with hidden treasures like Mezzo restaurant where you can have a memorable dining experience at an affordable price. Although the other dishes we ordered we straightforwardly gorgeous, we highly recommend trying the rich and flavourful Moussaka.
