It was hard to leave our previous hotel where we spent some lazy days swimming in the iconic tiffany blue lagoon and laying in the sun. However, I was unbelievably excited to take the boat that would take us to our following resort. From the distance, the Intercontinental Le Moana, which is situated in a prime position on the famous Matira Point, seemed to float over the bluest water ever seen.

There are several luxurious resorts in Bora Bora, each offering a unique stay. However, we finally chose Le Moana because the magnificent Heiva Tahitian Dance Competition was taking place and we were willing to attend. As the resort is conveniently located on the main island, it afforded easy access to Vaitape.

We were utterly vowed from the moment we set foot on the pier. Composed of lavish bungalows on stilts and peaceful villas surrounded by tropical vegetation and exotic flowers, Intercontinental Le Moana was like a true paradise with the peaks of Otemanu and Pahia rising up in the distance, swaying palm trees, and a panorama of a crystal blue lagoon. After being warmly welcomed with fresh fruit juice, a gentle lady scorted us to our dreamy bungalow.

Like something out of a daydream, an overwater bungalow has always been a symbol of romance of seclusion. With roofs woven from pandanus leaves, the allure of these bungalows is utterly irresistible. At Le Moana, every bungalow has a private dock and ladder, so imagine stepping directly from your deck into the infinite crystal clear waters!

Our days started with a blissful breakfast, followed by an early morning dive in the lagoon. Then, in the ocean‐side terrace of our private bungalow, we would while away the rest of the afternoon lying on a lounger with a fruity cocktail in hand.

The golden hour was my favorite moment of the day. The beauty of the sky was more magnificent than any photo can ever explain. At night, it was even more magical with the water glistening incredibly in the moonlight.
